The CW Picks Up Spin-Off for The Originals and The Vampire Diaries

With The Originals currently airing its final season and The Vampire Diaries ending last year, many of the fans were left wondering “what now?” Well, have no fear, there’s a spin-off near! Get all the details of the new spin-off below!

The CW was going back and forth over which show would get a spin-off in the upcoming 2018-2019 seasons. The chose Legacies, the spin-off for The Originals and The Vampire Diaries over the Wayward Sisters, a spin-off for the ever popular series Supernatural. This is the second spin-off the CW has rejected for Supernatural.

Here is what we know about Legacies:

This spin-off will revolve around the lives of Klaus and Hayley’s daughter, Hope MikaelsonAlaric Saltzman’s, twins Josie and Lizzie, and other young adults as they attend school at The Salvatore School For The Young And Gifted. We will watch as they “become the heroes they want to be—or the villains they were born to be.”

As far as casting, the only people that have been confirmed is Danielle Rose Russell as Hope, Matt Davis as Alaric Saltzman and Aria Shahghasemi as Landon.

A lot of fans of Supernatural are trying to figure out why these two spin-offs had to compete for the spot with Charmed and Rosewell reboots. Why not let both spin-offs go and nix one of the reboots? Well, according to a CW executive (reported by MovieFone), he “did not feel it was where it needed to be to go forward with it this year.” There is a chance in the future for one of these spin-offs, but for now, the characters that would have appeared on Wayward Sisters will hopefully continue to guest star on Supernatural.
